FOR THOSE WITH A BACHELOR'S DEGREE...

...but didn't plan on becoming a science or mathematics teacher until now? Let CaTEACH-SMI help your navigate your way to an exciting and rewarding career teaching science or mathematics.
The first steps to preparing and developing your new career involve:

• 1. Passage of the CBEST Exam
• 2. Passage of the CSET Exam
• 3. Select a Teaching Credential Program, such as the one offered through UCR's Graduate School of Education

If you are already a teacher, but not in the sciences or mathematics, you will:

• 1. Need to pass the appropriate CSET Exam
• 2. Earn an appropriate Supplementary Authorization:
  Supplementary Authorization in Sciences
  Supplementary Authorization in Mathematics


• Learn about UCR Education Extension Program
